Exploiting basic research to improve respiratory patient care in Wales.

Luis A. J. Mur, Adrian Mironas, & Keir Lewis

In this talk we will describe collaboration between scientists at Aberystwyth University and Hywel Dda University Health Board clinicians which is aiming to apply innovative scientific techniques to aid in the diagnosis of respiratory disease. We will show how changes in the protein content, chemistry and microbiology in patient sputum or saliva can provide key insights that could inform clinical practice and serve as a platform for personalised medicine.
Open to Aberystwyth University and Hywel Dda UHB staff and postgraduates. If you would like to be a speaker in the seminar series please contact rural-health@aber.ac.uk
